Yeah, sorry guy, a standard m42 cable won't work for you. It's only just long enough to work for us.

    BUT

I bet whatever cable/setup works on the OZ 318's will work for you

Sit rep on the 914 17mm master cylinder: I don't know if it's the MC, if there's a mystery air pocket, or if it's just the way it is, but there is absolutely no firmness to the pedal. Installation was easy, so I'm going to try the 19mm version now.

      In other news, this:

No it's very much connected unfortunately. That's just where it ended up after installing a cut-out and redoing the pipes up front out of the headers. Back to the drawing board.

              Oh it sounds bitchin.

*edit* MC should be here Saturday. I'm supposed to help make decorations for my wedding that day though, might be a tough sell.

I sourced the parts, had someone do the machining and welding.

So this accelerator cable is one of the last few things to finish my car but just need to clarify something.

I can get my hands on a accelerator cable for an M42 but its going to set me back $160..... does it need to be a M42 cable or can it be a M40 cable? I was told M40 is a tad shorter?

                        Will E36 M42 work?

wreckers are useless and I can't see someone wrecking an 318is in my area.

                        Any ideas?

Obviously you're doing something similar with the tie rod to avoid bump steer.

My jaw hits the floor every time I hear someone from oz talking about how much imported goods are... I swear, I'm convinced the Australian government doesn't want you to have nice things... yeah there's shipping but there's no way it's that expensive.

Anywho, I don't know if an e36 cable will work - but - the BMW dealer I purchased my cable from actually had the lengths of the cables listed. See if they can help you out guy

Not yet. I've never "felt" bumpsteer on the track, and I have no way of measuring it right now. I'll get to it eventually.

Well me again, back with more problems....

on the home stretch here but I'm having clutch issues...

I saw in your first post Jalopi you mentioned you used a rosehill performance hyd clutch slave cylinder kit? I've done the same but I've got the one for a tko600.

The problem I'm having is it's not fully disengaging the clutch. heres the interesting part. I'm getting the correct fork travel as i can get the clutch fork to bottom out when using the pedal.

Yet the clutch is just still touching/slipping.

                                Any ideas?
