This is an Official cry for help:
I have a 1993 326i Touring (Don't be afraid of that, the Cruise Control systems are the same for all E30's).
I am trying to install a BMW E30 cruise control system in this car, but I can't get it to work. (I have installed several these in other cars and haven't had any real problems.)
The issue that might be the cause of this problem is the output from the green plug on the cluster. (This blue and yellow wire goes straight to the Cruise Control electronic box.) This signal does not appear to be what I think it should be. This signal does not go up and down with increase and decrease in vehicle speed. In fact, it seems to be increasing and decreasing with engine RPM!
Does anyone know what this signal should be? Is it the same shape as the one leaving the differential, or does it get modified by the Cluster somehow?
Thanks for anyone's help.
