I did the dash and the fuel pump and stuff. I still have no throttle cable. Wiring is almost done. I tried some ign-ON tests... I have no fuel pump signal from the relay. I am assuming my BMW relay doesn't want to take the signal from the nissan ECU. I am going to run a separate relay if I can't figure it out.

    Should be running tomorrow.

Ummm. I didn;t see anything about portland meets in the gatherings section here. When is the next one?

UPDATE- I wired the gauge cluster, and I am reaching out to my available sources on some last minute wiring help needed.

SRE30 is the man. He helped me out a lot with some relay info on nissans.

I got the thing running yesterday. It is lobing pretty bad though. Just bounces from about 800 rpm about 1300 rpm... it is very consistant and starts suddenly about 17 seconds after the engine starts. It is so consistant it's wierd. ECU codes are for knock sensor and camshaft position sensor. But the engine wouldn't run with a bad CAS, and the knock sensor wouldn't make it lobe.

I still need a throttle cable, and a few things don't work:

            Tachometer
Ignition switch (I have it bypassed right now with a button)
            Power windows

Here are the pics from today.

OKay I got the thing better sorted out. It had a leak at the BOV that was making it loose metered air, thus causing it to run rich. The running rich increased engine speed, then it would decrease to maintain idle, which would kick the vacuum up, and open the BOV, and it would start over. That was why it was lobing.

At idle it only had like 14" of vacuum bafore. now I am at 20". a lot better.

What I mean is it looks fucking ridiculous with those rims/tires. There is no way it's going to be streetable with the tire sticking out past the fenders like that, especially since you are running soft cut stock springs. You are going to obliterate your fenders. The rims are just gigantic and make the car look all jacked up.

Oh ok. I actually drove the car a few times today. THe front does pretty well. I have not rubbed the fender lip yet. The rear is real bad though. I rolled the fenders and my tires still rub.

I was considering some M3 flares for the rear. I think it would look really wierd if I only had them in the back though. I just don't think I like the looks of the IE ones. I will probably stick to the original plan, which is cut the arches, and move them up about an inch with extensions in them. I am going to extend them using flares I will cut off of another E30.

I am going to do the fender modifacations next summer. I leave for school in about a week, so I won't drive this car for 9 months. It doesn't really matter that the wheels don't fit right.

digitalwave- thanks man, you just got removed from the "people who probably hate me" list. haha

drifty30- Cool. Is that a 13B? if so, tubo or not? if turbo, FC or FD? if FD, stock duals, or convert to single? BTW, I believe I have the same engine hoist as you. THat is a good tool you have, I picked up my front clip to unload it off my trialer when it was on the .5ton setting. And a front clip is like 1600 lbs. Still works fine 2 years later.

rwdrift- you are encouraging a thread-jacking? how do you sleep at night?!?! JK... I don't really care.

UPDATE- I did some really nasty fender cutting and hammering last night getting those rear tires to not rub. Tomorrow I will crush my BOV and see if I can get the tach working. Then I will be ready to capture some vid of me melting those rear tires. I already have the next set waiting to go on in my shed!
