Cheap Sub-Frame Fix?

    Yet even compared to those numbers for some reason $24 and 1 hour still seems more appealing.. hrmm?

      You should probably replace the sub frame bushing with OEM to fix the old and worn out problem then add these support piece if you don't to go out to a urethane.

      Either way, let us know.

        If you do that the price is going to equal urethane anyways, and urethane will last longer and is easier to install.

          If the car that these were going on was going to see any track time then yeah I would go that way. If you replace every bushing with urethane or solid (THR CAB's), you're going to lose that comfort ride quality that some e30's have. People might want to keep it that way instead of going race car style on it. Not everyone here tracks their car like most think they should.

          To some it might be worth it.

            Yeah, but you are saying you should replace with rubber and then add those inserts. That is going to add harshness just like the urethane does.

            Any I don't believe that urethane makes a car any less comfortable. I have urethane throughout my car and its a little bit louder, but if you have a radio and your back seat is still in the car its not noticable. Just a more direct feel throughout the car.

              f-it, I got some too, mine are trashed anyways, I just gotta see how/if this works out. maybe as a plus it will let me put off the bushings till spring. I'll keep the results posted too.

                I would agree with that also. But, know one here knows how these are going to differ from urethanes yet. Could be better or worse.

                If anyone does, speak up and let us know.

                    Got my set in yesterday though I might not have time to install this week because I'll be helping a friend install a new clutch in is car. If I can slip it in on Sunday I'll post pics and try to create a "How-To" guide.

                      cool! i just got under my e28 for the first time in a long time, and my subframe bushings are SHOT!!! get some good measurments, im gonna tr and make some of these things. ill let you guys know how well they work on a set of bushings that really should be replaced

                        nonsense. the street urethane bushings aren't that stiff. even being lowered and having konis the ride is fine, and there is no harshness to speak of. just more of a solid feel, and they last longer, and they slide right in with zero effort. nobody said you had to track your car to benefit from urethane.

                        I said it before, the PVC "fix" looks cheesy. go ahead and waste your money, I don't care..

                          So how much stiffer are the street urethane bushings compared to the stock ones? I need to replace my rear subframe bushings and was just going to go with the stock ones as I do not want to make the ride too harsh or introduce too much road noise.

                            The way I see it, not having a garage in MI, if it buys me a few months through winter, it is a good product, and worth it, but a band aid.

                              The ie bushings are 53.00 for the set seems false savings to me.

                                I'm not one to be picky about stiff ride, I could care less. Ever bushing in my car is urethane. So no, I didn't 'waste' my money on this, nor am I going to.

                                Your right, you don't have to track your car. But everybody acks like you need to mod your car for the track. If people that want to do this, let them.
