SEA FOAM ACTION.

ALLO.

I 'm thinking of doing the Sea Foam treatment. But, since the stuff
'cleans the internal engine areas', will it also wipe out the smooth, polished
areas and then would there be a bigge chance of 'burning oil' ?
My concern is to ''do no harm''....
I don't want to trade a non-oil burning engine into one that ''is clean'',
but now burns oil.

I need the wisdom of the pit crew, before I mess up my BMR....

People say this stuff makes the car rev smoother. What does that mean? Does that mean it's not as loud as the revs go up? Does the car rev faster?

Has anyone who tried this found that it did more harm than good. My ETA has 375000 on the odo and does not burn any oil at all. My fear is that my dirty non-oil burning car will turn into a clean oil burning car if I run this stuff through.
Can the people who tried this product give a thumbs up or down on it. Thats about all I wanna hear, but if you have any good or bad stories to tell I would love to hear them also.

used that shit a million times, have had any side effects or anything! on a couple of old m10s [old as in 225k+] it made a world of a difference! just ran better.

I wouldn't run this through your car. A very good diesel mechanic I know doesn't run this through high mileage engines because often times that carbon buildup prevents oil leaks and such. It'd run better, but it'd also most likely leak like crazy.

I doubt this stuff would make any engine "leak like crazy."

I've had no long term effects with it. It all gets burned up or cycled out fairly quickly.

i also doubt sea foam would make an engine leak as it doesn't touch any seals... i'v used it, i used it on my old suberban, my friends vw, my other friends vw, my other friends bmw, my brothers truck, and i have never seen any bad side effects. no burning oil, nothing. no leaks either. and i used it on my previous motor. all of these were done over a year ago, maybe 2. and no complaints from any of my friends, or any of my families cars.

Well - if you read the can it says it can be used as a gas additive, "injested" into the intake manafold, or even added to the engine oil!

It doesn't make a world of difference - but it's noticable.

If your scared of sucking it up into the motor with a vacume line, just add it to your tank whenyou are low on gas. You won't get all the benifits, but it will work a tad.

my old e21 uses to suffer from deposits on the back of the valves(its continous injection - no puleses of gas - the injectors ALWAYS are open - so you get a lot of carbon on the back of the valves.)

I know someone with a '90 325is who has run this stuff through his car. I believe his cars' odo reading is in the 130K mile range. At any rate, he ran this stuff though shortly before his car was due for one of Calif's infamous smog tests. He did do an oil/filter change prior to it and his car passed with very respectable numbers.

Hey this may be a dumb question but I may as well ask it-
Would adding sea foam to the crank case have any effect on engine compression? I just did a compression test and I was shocked to see that my 200k mileage engine compressed 150 psi on all cylinders... so I am afraid to screw it up! Haha
Just curious if there is any way that carbon build up could possibly be what's making my engine compress well.

I know it says on the bottle that you can add it to oil but I wouldn't do it on a 200k engine. I have heard stories that when the junk gets cleaned out it can clog the pickup screen on your oil pump and you'll lose oil pressure.
