Nice job on the lips! Meguiar's metal polish is great.

i dunno what you are saying. In the first pic the gold is different shades and in the second there is no gold. The inside is bare metal from bead blastingOriginally posted by DaveCNpolishing looks good!
The gold is a lot lighter than stock, or is that just the lighting in the pic?Comment

so has anyone tried the liquid mask stuff? should i sand the bare metal before the primer goes on?
here is a pic with a pice of metal i quick shot with the wurth paint. I dont know if the imperfections in the polishing are going to be visible in the real world or not. Its the same wheel i took a picture of before

I've thought about polishing the lips on my weaves and painting the centers black, but my only problem is that I have curb rash. Where can I have the rash fixed so I can still polish them and not notice a difference or am I out of luck and just gotta paint the whole wheels?sigpicComment

Any professional wheel shop can fix curb rash to look like new and polish the lips.Originally posted by DarkWing6I've thought about polishing the lips on my weaves and painting the centers black, but my only problem is that I have curb rash. if you are trying to mask of the lips so you can paint it, you should be able to do it with blue painters tape. just carefully follow the edge all the way around (I used 3" strips at a time to make it easier).
those lips look great btw! almost makes me want to redo mine again.. almost. ;)Comment

but how did you do it when it has that spot that curves up on the inside? in the next few days i'll be going to a paint store to get the best primer i can find. I could just ask them how they would do it too. you can see what im talking about in this pic

i got some Dupli-Color sandable primer, is that going to be good enough?
and does anyone have any other masking ideas? what about rubber cement?Comment

just use the blue 3m masking tape. it's not that hard to follow around the lip, just use 3" long strips. and your sandable primer should be fine. you might want to wet sand it lightly with 400 grit after you primer it to make sure it's smooth.Originally posted by nickmp0weri got some Dupli-Color sandable primer, is that going to be good enough?
