    15 or 16s? opinions wanted.

    early e30 vert.
would it be a mistake to go 16's?
i am torn between basket weaves and alpina 20 spokes.
best offset? different front and rear?

    Thanks in advance.

      16s look better.

I wish my BBS RS were 16s.

Either one works well. 15" looks more original in most cases and allows a bit more sidewall cushion, but 16" has a lot of attractive options and a wider tire variety. I'm currently running 16" wheels in the summer. Offset changes depending on the width of the wheel.

Also...you don't have an F10 by any chance, do you?

I also have an F10 as my daily. E30 is my new toy.

          I love the RS's...

I have Euro bumpers on order. And just got my smileys in the mail with Euro grilles. Need some wheels to put it all together.

          Decisions decisions. Lol

Haha, I just realized BMW has an F10. I was picturing an F12.

The basketweaves will give the car a more "period" look in almost all cases.

Pick your tires first, pretty limited selection in 15 inch and 16 inch. I say let the tire you like (and can purchase) pick the wheel size.

recommended tire size for 16x8 and x9's?
                205/45/16 f , 225/45/16 r sound right?
or should the rears be 215/45/16?

                i am considering ESM-002 or 003.

                thanks

I'd go 16s. I ordered too quickly without much research & went 15x9 +15 on all four corners & I love the width/offset.. But I can't go much lower to fill up the wheel gap in the fenders. I'm definitely going f-16x9+6 r-16x10+11 225/40 on my next setup.

                    Current:

Next setup exactly on specs listed above:

Where in Long Island are you?

I went with 16s on my old Mtech 2 car and it looked awesome. When I put them on my early model vert with euro bumpers, not so much.

Im switching to 15 inch euroweaves soon for a more original look like others have said.

245 on 6x8?? I was thinking 215/55 but that wide tire sounds really nice.

I'm stuck between the two. 15s look great with a larger sidewall & are easier to find nice 4x100 wheels in. 16s are nice because the wheel fills up more of the wheel well, but tire cost goes up. I'd base your decision off of tire choice like others have said.

                          16s

                          15s

Better high performance tire selection for 16" wheels, that's all the info I needed to make that decision. 225/45/16 on 16x8 is a good, un-stretched square setup. It's hard to do any better than that.

That's what I would go by as well. It's actually harder to find 15" tires
