Alright, lets try this again... the right way.

 1987 325es

 Final tire choice:

 Toyo R888 in 255/50r16

 Wheel can be a 16x8 or 16x9.

Would like to avoid flares, but will be doing some SERIOUS fender pulling/modding/shaping.

Mystikal - I know this is e30 specific, but do you have any M3 experience?

I'm wondering what the lowest offset I can safely run 225/45/16 on 16x7.5 wheels. Would et07 be rub city on the front?

Answered my own question. I totally forgot I had a factory E28 M5 spare tire in my E28's trunk, so a bit of test fitting.

 Specs:
 16x7.5
 et 20
 225/50/16
 10mm spacer

The tires are obviously too tall, but the pacing doesn't look to be bad.

Looking into a new setup for autoX this summer. Car is an 87 325is, GC coils that are currently way too low but will be fixing that.

I know 15x8 TRM C1's with 225/45 Hankook RS3's are a tried and true combo, they require just a bit of fender rolling, correct?

Also looking into 15x9's, wheel in particular is 15x9 et15, again with 225/45 RS3. What sort of spacers/fender work would that require? Thanks. Comment

Will 17x9 et20 work on a 87 325is with blitztein HD and vogtland springs? Will it clear brakes? Fender roll? Tire suggestions? I'd say its 1.5-3" below stock height gestimateComment

215/40 is the limit all around with either setup. Maybe 235/40 rear only if it's an early car.i have 2 sets of wheels.one is a set of 17x8/9 style 32s with an offset of 26/20 and then a set of 17x8 e39 style 5s with an offset of 20. i will have e30 m3 rear 5 lug and then lativian spindle sleeves which widen the front by 12mm on each side. my question is can i run 235/40/17 all around on both sets? i am on ground controls and all the fenders will be roller. thanks!Comment

That's over an inch too tall to ever work on stock fenders.Comment

First setup likely wouldn't require a roll on your car, good fit. The second setup would definitely require rolling, but can work. 3-5mm front spacers may be needed depending on your front spring setup.Looking into a new setup for autoX this summer. Car is an 87 325is, GC coils that are currently way too low but will be fixing that.

 Hey,

I'm looking to a set of RM's. Just wondering which offset will get me flush with the fenders - 3" lips et1 or 2.5" lips et14. Or is staggered the preferred method?

EDIT: Nevermind, sorry I should have searched THIS thread before asking - looked through google and other threads. I now have my answers.

 Thanks!Last edited by JRYE30; 03-17-2014, 01:12 PM.
