Both require extreme camber, lots of tire stretch, plenty of low, and sky high spring rates (all to not look like crap, and not rub). I'd stay staggered if you're already committed to such an insane offset.

      40mm and 205/45. Nice stance.

The car is now 95% track use running hsax events and the class I run allows tires with a wear rating of 140, which is a lot better than the 280 the T1r's come in at.

I am having a really hard time finding any tire with a 140 rating in 245/??/16. Any suggestions?

Fenders are rolled flat and slightly pulled, with 10mm spacer front and 5mm rear. The toyos fit beautifully, but I do have room for a wider tire up front and taller aspect all around. I went with 215 fronts to match the OD of the 245s out back.

Open to new size combos as long as my grip is improved over all.
This may sound completely wrong, but I'm fairly certain the fastest 140TW 16" tire would be the 205/50/16 Dunlop Z1 SS. Yes the width is laughable, but there is no other 16" tire in an E30-friendly diameter that has a compound comparable to the excellent Dunlop. It would absolutely spank your current T1R setup.

The Kumho XS is also quite good and comes in a 215/45, but it's downright scary in the wet. If you don't have a dedicated wet setup, avoid these as they will ruin a wet lapping day for you.

If you're set on the 20mm rear spacers then yes, 195/50 or 195/45 will be better choices.

Your calculation is right then, 17x9.5 +51 is the final result.

Add 25mm bolt-on spacers (safe and easy, check them out if you haven't) and 245/35/17 tires.

Dunlop's site shows a 225/50/r16 in the star specs, would that aspect fit on my wheel/spacer setup? I wouldn't mind running that size all around.

After looking some more it looks like the z1 SS has a wear rating of 200? Can you get it in a 140 compound?

OK, got me some new wheels! 16x8 et0 - ESM 001 (I love em, don't care if you hate em).

I am running GC coilovers with race camber plates...so lots-o-camber.

                        Questions:
                        1) What size 16" tire will give the largest contact patch, still have some stretch, and not rub?
2)Assuming some stretch, will fender rolling be required? Keeping in mind that I can raise front and rear about 1 inch and also lower it about 1 inch (collars are right in the middle).

                        Thanks!

                          Mystical -

What size spacers would be needed to get the Ronal LS rear wheels to be more flush (but not rub.) Tire size would be 225/45/15.

                          Thanks

Similar question, I'm looking to run 15x8 and 195's. What would be the most straight forward approach to fitment. ET with no or at least minimal fender modifications/spacers + specific tire size to ease fitment i.e. 195/50's, less sidewall maybe.

                              found some borbet LS wheels.
                              size 16x8 with 205/45/16's mounted.
                              offset is 1 inch.

will these clear? could i get away with running a spacer in the rear to get a lil more agressive look?

EDIT: they are coming off a miata with center bore of 54.1. how expensive would it be to get these bored out to 57.1?

                                Mystical-

I picked up a almost new set of Kumho V710 tires. The size is 225/45/R16.
My car has a moderate amount of fender roll and I am currently running 225/45/R17 without an issue but I am not sure of the offset of the Kosei wheels that I am running.
My question is, What would be the best wheel size and offset for the Kumho tires? I autocross so they will not be used for DD. 16x8 or wider?
