I'm pulling the trigger on wheels tonight but just wanted a confirmation that I'm getting the right tire size. I ordering a set of TRMotorsports C1 in 15x8 and I'm thinking of the Yokohama S-Drives in 205/50R15. I'm on unknown lowering springs, prob Bav Auto ones and I can't roll the fenders. My car is an 87 so I have the higher rear arches. I'm not going for a stretched look, just want to find the squarest tire size that wont rub (if that makes any sense).
I would be eternally grateful for any feedback!Comment

I just bought some BBS RS and was wondering...
2 wheels are already 16x9 +11
2 other wheels I will have resized. Would the 16x9 +11 work in the rear fine?
What should my resized wheels be to match the 16x9 +11s?
205/45/16 all the way around?
Or 215/40/16s?
Will this work??? (Fender rolling will be done of course...)
Help please!Comment

195/45 and 215/40. Or 205/40 215/40. Either setup will require at least -3 camber front and rear. That's extremely aggressive.Comment

Ideal fronts: 16x7.5 +25 or 16x8 +22
Ideal rears: 16x8 +30 or 16x8.5 +26
Give or take a few mm of ET should be fine.Comment

Thanks for the tip on the 55's. Tire rack is refusing to mount either sized tire/wheel combo which is a PITA but I'l see if I can go with the 55 locally.

I always say 225/50 doesn't work up front, but if you're okay with the occasional scrub in the inner wheel well or on the top seam of the fender then they are "workable".

So at the moment I have
16x8 +33
16x9 +11
So by resizing the 8" wide wheels, what should I resize them to to match the 16x9s? And tire sizes? Thanks!Last edited by LrgSoup; 07-27-2012, 06:51 AM.Comment

Suggestion 1: Keep them 16x8 and run 20mm spacers.
Suggestion 2: Change only the outer lips to 1" wider netting a 16x9 +20 wheel. Run these on the front with a 10mm spacer to clear the struts.
Suggestion 3: Go all out with the resizing and make them 16x8.5 +10 to +15.Comment

I see. Did they just change the outer lips or the inner barrels also? If only the outers the new wheels are actually 16x9 +8.

What tire size should I get? Could I run 16x9 up front?Comment

The e30 I just bout has oem basket weaves and is need of new tires. There seems to b VERY few options. I can do the oem 195/65 or 205/60? Looks as if the falken 512 is the best option out of the 3. Need something good in rain and don't need anything crazy expensive...just something that'll hold me over while I go thou the refresh phase of the car.
Any other suggestions?Comment
