I haven't even seen it yet. It's still on a boat.

        But: Here's what I know:

        1993 318
        5 speed
        M40
        Mugellorot

Hopefully in good enough condition to drive it from the port in Baltimore to Indianapolis.

I'm currently making a list of every Autozone, AdvanceAuto and BMW repair shops between Baltimore and Indianapolis. Hopefully, I won't need them.

I heard those European E30s are all rusted through.
This can be your main problem.

I have a lot of pictures that show that it has minimal rust. We'll find out soon enough.

I have some rust repair skills. Hopefully, this one will be within my skill set.

I bought my Touring in Baltimore and drove it home to Charlotte. If you want to have a competent BMW shop check it out before you head to Indy, I highly recommend Blue Ridge Sports Cars. They found a problem with mine and the owner stayed late to get me on the road. Price was also reasonable.

Thanks for the Blue Ridge Sports Cars tip. They are near the port and right on my way to Indianapolis. If I have a problem getting started, I'll give them a call.

What did they have to do to your car?

Man, I've hunted for years for a good condition Mugellorot Design edition, the rarest of the 4 design edition colors!

If you can wait a year or two, you can probably have this one.

I will be working on it and driving it during that time period. When I get everything sorted, I will probably get bored with and want to go find another one. Here is the one I just sold: https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/for...0-swap-5-speed

The car had 280k km and was not in great shape, so I had them do basic maintenance and look for anything obvious that would strand me. The rear brake backing plates were completely rusted and flopping around, so I think they just cut them off. My memory is a little fuzzy as to why, but they also had to disable the parking brake for me to safely drive home to Charlotte.

Definitely start a thread when you take the trip

and here’s a touring I saw in Italy last October. The Alfa was my rental, I literally just stopped, jumped out snapped a pic and jumped back in the car lol... can’t believe it’s been a year already
