ar design: E28 LSx Turbo Build

Just picked up an E28. I've been itching to do an LSx turbo build ever since I sold my twin turbo C6 a few years back.

So.... Here goes! Build will take place over the next 2-4 months, depending on how over budget I go ;)

    11-8-12

Engine removed, started working on stripping interior, insulation, and absolutely everything that is not essential. We are going to try and have this thing down to about 2500lbs.

    BMW insulation is HEAVY!

        ^^ exactly.

It is a good thing you bought this car before I did, I would have parted it out and scrapped the shell... ;)

FYI I believe that car has an E28 M5 diff. I looked at buying that car once a couple years back when it had BBS RS and the whole 9 yards.

by the way, I will be impressed if this actually takes 2-4 months. Then again, I guess you run a BMW shop...

                  Saturday update!

Got a bunch more insulation removed. Heat gun, scraper, and a hammer. What a pain!

The heat seems to be working fairly well. Last time I tried dry ice it didnt work well.

whoa I have never heard of that specific trans before. Why did you choose not to go with the T56 6-speed?

I wanted straight cut gears, and this trans is MUCH stronger. Its based off a Super T-10.
