    URO Parts?

I understand URO has a bad rapport with parts like control arms, upper strut mounts, and other mechanical bushing related parts. But for something as simple as a rear shock protection tube boot would you also steer clear of URO? It seems like the only two suppliers for this such part are Genuine BMW at double the price of URO. How could URO mess up a simple plastic tube?

For items like that, who cares, URO is fine

Yeah for that, I'd go for it.
Also their M5x aluminum thermostat housing is surprisingly nice versus some other cheap variants. Not sure I'd trust the seal that comes with it though.

Yea non-functional drivetrain parts are fine. They are not perfect but those are the things that wont make you break down or mess up your steering. I remember making the mistake of buying URO control arms for my E46 back in the day, they were worse than my worn-out OE ones. Never again on important stuff.

Unless you're making a concourse car with 100% BMW branded parts, URO is just fine for that kind of non-critical stuff. I've also used them for brake caliper guide pin caps, door handles, door handle surrounds, and other cheap non-critical plastic parts.

I have a couple of E46 front bearing covers that just don't fit.
                It's a stamped metal plate.
                It's too small.

So, there I am, reusing the old ones.

URO uses rubber sourced by chinese suppliers. worst rubber in the world. i've used chinese parts before which were frankly quite good, unfortunately if any of them incorporate rubber, the part will fail prematurely. things like half-axels etc will barely last a year, it's always the rubber that gives out first, then the part gets compromised.
