Many, many years ago, I would go to u-pull and pick up a wheel barrow full of LSD's, manual swaps, and engines. Hardly ever spent over $400 for everything I could stuff in there. Today, the coolant cross over pipe for the m20b25 late model is about $150 all rusted to crap on eBay.
Yes, it's pretty clean - needs almost everything tho. Same owner as the Honda turbo swap, he's probably going to do this one in 2-3 stages. Got to do a full inspections and write up the service and let him decide.
Fortunately I got most of the parts for my car during that era. I recently sold a set of sport seats for $1200 that I got from u-pull for $22 about 10 years ago

I still can't get over what happened to e30's. It was like trash to treasure in 5yr.
I love surprising clients with things like this lol.
Vintage can I found when doing construction back in the day. Actually last one. Found a 6 pack of Old Milwaukee, this and some old pull tab sodas, and used them on ignition coils for cool builds. Don't have many pics of the other ones. :(

Used parts prices have gone up significantly.
People asking over $1000 for an E36 LSD locally and they're sold right away before I can even respond.

This.
I sold a fine running and driving red late model coupe for $2500, it needed some work but included two sport seats for $250 (that would now sell for $1000 and they weren't perfect).
It's the parts that kinda suck paying high price now for ontop of that, I sold so many parts for cheap to local 10 years ago, hoping some of that good part-karma comes back to me as I need it... but won't be holding my breath.

Same. I would basically give parts away back in '09.
I don't even wish for hindsight so that I could profit excessively off of the change in parts prices. I wish I could have simply seen that E30's wouldn't always be cars for teenagers/they wouldn't always be 'cheap beaters' to simply have fun with, tearing out the carpet and the back seats.
I just wish I had the foresight to buy something unmolested and clean to simply enjoy and to drive, like Mitch did with that red '89 that went out at Tortilla Flats. That's a $50,000 E30 in todays market. All for $4,000.
Or heaven forbid, the DS '88 M3 that was for sale for a paltry $8,000 back in 2005.
