I've seen cheap fuel injector cleaners on Amazon and thought getting one could be an easy side gig. I just never through of an injector being a "wear item", although it kinda makes sense.
It’s a electro mechanical device so wears out and can fail after millions of cycles. The more cycles and time the closer you get to a failure. The number of issues with so called refurbished injectors is plentiful.
If it’s a shit box you don’t much care about sure clean them yourself but any sort of well maintained vehicle or high performance it’s best to get new from a reputable source IMO

I used bimmer Barron just because they are local to me. Might be the same bimmer baron that was on here in the past. https://bimmerbaron.com/collections/rebuild-services

I believe the m20b23 ones are smaller than the m20b25.

I have one in my hand from my m20b23, and it has part number Bosch 0280150208. on it. and this site reckons they are 166cc. but i dunno on the accuracy.

I reckon you could buy new ones of these somewhere. they seem to be on heaps of cars from that era.

The other thing to remember is the euro m20b23 is L-jetronic, no 02 sensor. (although some markets had one i think, but it was a hack job retrofit). So the wrong size wont work too well as its basically an open loop system.

I've used witch hunter in the past for my fuel injector cleaning. Reasonable price and correct replacement orings. Also received a printout of each injectors flow rate.

Also, a stuck open injector cannot be fixed. If it has an internal problem, you cannot service it.

I have had good luck with injector planet with rebuild kits and injector cleaning service on a set I sent in. That was several years ago and it seems vendors are coming and going these days.

Ecstuning has new Bosch fuel injectors, part number 13641731357 (supersedes 13641466394). These have worked perfectly for my M20B25 motor. They were about $40 each but have increased now to over $60. Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_0300.webp Views:	29 Size:	6.1 KB ID:	10097360

I cleaned the injectors on my old 325e myself. Took them out and blasted them with brake cleaner using methods I found on YouTube. Kept them open with a 9V battery. Threw on a new filter and pintle cap. Car ran a bit better

I know there's quite a few vendors on eBay. They mail you a set that already done and you send yours back

There was a member here doing it for a while, but I don't see him around anymore.. Maybe it was something along the lines of beamerbaron?

He also had a store on eBay.

Anyone here on the forum doing injector cleaning? I have an 85 323i and the fuel pressure is not holding after I turn the car off; gauge drops off in about 20 minutes and
the car is running crazy rich. I think I have fuel in the oil too:(.
    thanks for any help,
    jm
