confirm if the crank handle supposed to click at 3 or 2 positions. I finally synced mine up but it only clicks in fully closed and fully open position. No clicks when UP/Vent position. Is it how it supposed to be?
It was clicking in the middle of retraction but I got it to click when closed..just want to make sure it is all it can do or should I keep adjusting in search for the 3rd click... Thank you

No third click in mine. Caveat: the only thing I've ever done to it was replace the panel, I've never re-adjusted the internals.

The crank can engage right away or can spin 360 the other direction before it engages.

Gets a click at the end of travel on full open.
Gets a click on close.
No click on the tilt vent.
Click when coming back to close.

Car is a stock 1991 318is.
I am the 2nd owner and the 4th owner. (Nephew was the 3rd). To the best of my knowledge the roof has never been taken apart. I changed out the crank handle several years ago when the rubber bit fell apart.

Thank you all. Pretty much what i suspected as there is only like two turns between closed and vent. It seems the manual crank clicks every like 18 turns or so
