    Garagistic Strut Bar Install

just installed a garagistic strut bar. wasn't as smooth as i had hoped. front two bolts lined up great but the back two closer to the firewall were about 1-2 mm out between them. might have been the bar, the garagistic gets crapped on a bit but is still mostly good value for the money.
most e30 shock towers move inward a bit over time and the bar can be installed by lifting the car at the center of the subframe, moving the towers out. mine had moved outward, after hours of creative jacking on either side to move the towers in, we wound up ovalizing the back holes by about 1mm each.

wasn't super thrilled about enlarging the holes but it's in and everything seems solid after taking the car on a good run to try it.
wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I have had a similar experience with most Ireland E30 stuff... over the decades...

I just installed a Garagistic unit on my vert. The holes lined up perfectly so I’m fairly sure their measurements are fairly good.

yours has the tower reinforcements that most don't. it had better line up with those. the issue is only on 6 cyl cars without it.

Oh, the value for money's ok- and that's often been reflected in the fit and finish.

the rear bar went in fine. gonna have to check it after running it a while. got ecs strut tower reinforcements making the bolts close to max with the brace added.

cut out some access windows in the carpet and reinstalled. next project is mounting an amp and sorting some audio.
