Painting rocker panels and bottom of rear valance

Hey, all. I'm new around here. Just picked up an Alpine White 1990 325is. It's in great condition, but some of the black on the rocker panels and the lower part of the rear valance has come off revealing the white underneath. Is there a way for me to paint these using trim paint? Or is this something a pro paint shop needs to handle?

That area doesn't need perfect paint.
You can mask it and use SEM Trim Black.

Thanks so much. I did exactly what you said and it came out great! I even ended up spraying the front lip. Couldn't find SEM Trim Black locally so I went with Dupli-Color Black Trim and it looks great. Thanks for the help.

Nice work. Get SEM trim paint for the rest of the faded plastics. Cowl vents, grilles, kidneys... all likely need it. Makes such a big difference

they are all paint save for the body kit cars. lots of e30s have body colour matched rockers. makes the car look lower. factory rockers were black.

I think it was an 80’s design thing on many cars to visually reduce the body height. Carried to the ridiculous extreme of the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer. In one solid color they’re pretty cool.
