I seem to remember a bleeding proceedure when I first got it. maybe you forgot that step?

it's a hell of a lot better than those cheesy $10 1-ton jacks. those things are damn scary. or even worse, the factory jack.

The valve is easy to break, from what I've seen.

i use the harbor freight one. i took it to the track and auto-x almost every weekend for 3 summers straight. worked like a champ every time.

shipping it here to germany messed it up a bit though. there is air in it somewhere so it doesn't pump as well as it used to. i tried to bleed it but didn't get it right as it changed nothing.

it's definetly worth the $150 i paid 6 years ago

I got the $100 harbor freight special, and like everyone else said, it is amazing. The handle easily breaks down into two pieces, so it's easy to transport. My buddy uses it on his crew cab diesel F250, and I use it at least weekly on my cars and truck. I've had it for 2 years now, it still works perfect.

That's why I thought, but they only have a 1 year warranty. They don't even sell the parts to fix the seals. My fist one crapper out within the first year, but this one I've had for a few years so I'm screwed.

i just picked up the $99 Harbor Freight one this past monday. I had a 20% off coupon to use so I had expected to pay around $80 plus tax. I guess the jack was on sale for $80 so I ended up paying a little under $70 after tax.

It was the US general aluminum jack that normally goes for $99. I've heard a lot of good things about the jack and a few bad ones. I think for the price it's pretty good.

For my regular garage jack I have a steel Craftsman. It's durable, but my biggest complaint is that I need to jack my car to get the jack underneath it. I usually drive onto some 2x6's to get the front end high enough to get the jack underneath.

I would love a long, low jack to make it easier.

easy solution - low profile ramps. No more driving up onto blocks to get my car onto ramps so I can jack the thing up. lol.

hmmm...where can you buy these? i haven't seen a ramp low enough for my car. it always catches the IS lip. most of the time i just remove the lip before driving up the ramp but i end up breaking the clips :o or if i'm lazy i drive on a piece of wood then up the ramp.

I don't remember, it was several years ago - somebody posted a thread about them, everybody thought they were stupid. I bought a set and couldn't be happier. Found them on some import tuner website for about $75. I think griot's garage sells something similar.

I have 3 aluminum jacks. Their usefulness can be ranked in this order:

Small HF, awesome clearance. I use this one the most

                              Large HF, good height

Large Craftsman, pumps up quicker than the others, but needs to be bled often. hydraulics suck.

I checked the reviews on the costco alluminum one and they did not look too good.
