wow old thread! I've only been up to 125 in my car, but I don't really like doing high speeds on public roads. although passing cars on the freeway at 110 in 5th gear is a lot of fun :D

I hit ~120 (on the speedo anyway) in my eS. The NVH was horrible what with a worn driveshaft, and unbalanced tires. Idiotic thing to do after just getting my car. Now my front wheel bearings are getting questionable, and my tires suck, so still I have unpleasant noise, and some remaining vibration. Haven't hit trippple digits in a while.

I wonder how fast an e30 could be made to go with the right gearing? I saw this top gear episode where they were trying to hit 200 mph in an old Lotus, and they had some other basic cars, but heavily modified, which were hitting 200mph. That would be crazy fast in an e30. I'd love it. [/threadjack]

My car will climb up to 145 pretty damn quickly. I'd imagine with longer gears it would go pretty fucking fast.

I think the dude was pretty embarrassed that the little 325e was keeping up with his s52.
