Is there a DIY for manual window conversion.

I searched. I want to convert from power to manual if thread title was unclear.

OP - it's pretty straight forward but you'll need to make sure you have matching glass... there were at least two styles of front door glass and they mount differently.

you need to give us more info, how late/early is the car. usually you swap the mechanisms, and if it's a late model you'll need to swap the whole thing with glass and all.

Sorry, 1985 325e, European spec. Canadian car I think. No A/C or power steering from factory. I want to make this car as close to a motor and a chassis as possible while leaving it intact.

Ok, so it should have the early style glass and actuators (cable style). Take door panels off and confirm.

the motors only weigh maybe 1-2lb each, I can't see this being worth the cost/headache...

From what I understand, the manual mechanisms weigh more when fully converted.

I wouldn't be doing this for weight reduction.
