    these are true coupes.

this 370z is grey water. it has b and c pillars, but the space between is awfully small. the rx8 is even more murky because it doesnt have a real B pillar, but with both doors closed it forms a virtual B pillar.

this is a two door sedan. i dont care what bmw calls it.

2 door sedans are a compromise. it gives that coupe look but a 2+2 seating configuration that is much more desired than just 2 seats. i'll hold on to these beliefs stronger than santorum believes he has a right to make sure your wife doesnt use birth control.

I've seen some fantastic looking sedans (check straight4pwr's cirrus), and as a counterpoint I've seen the same of coupes(who hasn't). The 4 door has got to be more practical as others have said.

Does anyone know they difference in wheelbase between the two?

there is nothing mechanically different between the 2 and 4 door versions. they are identical under the car.

Coupes and four doors are built on the same chassis. They are the exact same size and length.

              I prefer 2 door E30s.

As far as what defines a coupe vs sedan there actually isn't any clear cut definition but I like to think of a coupe as not having a b-pillar like kershaw said.
But it really just comes down to what the manufacturer wants to market it as. Mercedes marketed the 4 door CLS as a coupe. Some people say the roofline determines coupe vs sedan, particularly in the rear of the car.

I feel i have better visibility in a coupe due to the placement of the b pillar. It is also easier to get in and out of the coupe(front seats of course).

I dislike the 2 door e30s because they are harder to get friends in the back(JasonC does not have to worry). I also love the 4 door look over 2 door, I have owned 3 coupes and 4 sedans. I only like the verts and M3s in 2 doors. They just look scrunched, not saying there is none out there I like(Stephens for one).

Danny also did a smashing job on his.

                      Pretty sure that's a 5 door.

                        hehe :giggle:

I knew id step on peoples toes, but i also find it harder to get out of 4 doors too. Where there is a larger opening on 2 doors. Plus if my friends dont like riding with me, well they have their own ride!

when I had jetta sedan I used the back door only twice. The only annoying moment is when I realized that I forgot to take my bag out after shut the door.

                              Coupe.

I don't know why everyone thinks a family needs four doors; I have kids and they just hop in the back. They even carry their own seats. Today's car seats make it easy to get your kid secured, even if infant. Our other car is a sedan (suzuki sx4) and the kids prefer the E30.

Hell, when we went on vacation over Christmas we rented a camaro. We had fun and the kids loved it, my 19 year old cousin gave us the look of death from his parents' minivan.

I'm the opposite of others here. The 4 doors just look better. Before you ask, I have no reason for this opinion other than what my eyes tell my brain.
