Jordan may have been too quick to ban people. The new Sheriff need not be so heavy handed, but he ought not to be afraid to kick people out now and again.
There are a few idiots running loose. I hope that they will either clean up their acts, go away, or be terminated.

That is all.
I 100% agree

I guess I've kinda missed out on alot of the Jordan cronicles but I will say that this is e30 site I frequent the most because of it's competent and experience members.
My only complaint is that some members need to learn how to socially interject into conversation without bashing the person or idea that started the thread.
There are a few purists on here that beat anything down that isn't recommended and stamped with the BMW seal of approval. It keeps new member from asking questions and making suggestions which is what everyone needs to keep the creative juices flowing that make an online community what it is.
An example being the "Budget Beater" thread. I am just as guilty as joining in on the newbie bashing but I went back and apologized because I failed to remember sometimes it takes different strokes for different folks and bashing such ideas limits the community.
While having a negative opinion about a persons ideas is not wrong the approach used to confront that person about their idea makes all the difference. It's also much easier to shut out a person's negative opinion about your ideas when they approach you in such a way you're force to defend yourself.

Just think about the budget beater topic for one moment, do you honestly think he's the first guy in history to do this to an E30, a lot of these guys around here including myself have been around for a long time, we've seen countless fools thinking they're going to make huge gains on cheap ebay parts, it's not going to happen, tried and tested.....
But as far as you guys bitching about the bullshit, i think it's perfect the way it is, a little bullshit is good now and then, everyone needs a laugh. But this bitching and moaning about he said this about my car and doesn't like this, grow the fuck up. if your that insecure about your car don't post it.
Personally i kind of enjoy reading RWH1201312073 or whatever his s/n is' posts, they're usually good for a laugh etc. there is one thing that drives me up the wall around here though, it's the damn newbies being to lazy to search for anything, see the search button up top, use it for christs sakes.....
Yes people need to accept critics, yes they need to lighten up and accept ribbibng but when 98% of a persons posts are you are an idiot, your car sucks, you suck whatever then clearly that jerk is the problem.
The search function leaves quite a bit to be desired seemingly in most forums. I think many times people do search (I do) but do not find what they are looking for.
We need to be nicer to each other, act as if we will see the person before we rip them a new one for no reason.

Of course not but I'm just saying that we may have taken his idea a little to personal.
There's a difference between saying.. "I think your idea is stupid and I don't think it will work" and saying "Your idea is so fucking stupid OMG you stupid fucking newbie I hope you r3v your car and fuckin die racing a wild pack of honda civics etc."
I for one think the search feature on every forum I know blows. I can never find the thread I want, sometimes even when I type in the exact title. That being said, Ive still found plenty of info here if Ive looked hard enough.
Personally I dont really like the whole banning idea. Its an internet forum, its not like its your wife saying youve got a small D, so who the fuck cares. Sure Ive gotten a little erked about stuff before, but I mean, I dont hold grudges over something this stupid. Everyone Ive met from the board (Ill admit its only a few) have been more than helpful to me. So Im greatful.
Since the search area does suck so bad we need to make the FAQ section of the forum better. Take some of the frequestly asked questions, hence the name, that are asked not in the FAQ section and move them there when the thread is done. Maybe have the mods duplicate the thread and then clean it up a bit for readablility. That way we can actually find those things we are looking for. I know I have searched for threads I know are there, but I cannot find them so I end up asking again.
If you narrow your search down (use usernames, specific forums, etc.) you shouldn't have a problem. I've never NOT found anything I was looking for.
I think the new forum leaders are too touchy-feely and afraid to hurt anybody's feelings or be firm on some rules. I keep hearing you guys are "slowly working on it", well why does time need to be taken? Lay down some rules and make us all stick to them.

This is all good and well for those of us that have been around here for a while. I have done the same in the past, but what about the n00bs that don't know who said what or where it was said? I am just saying that we should make our FAQ section a little better.
Maybe we should have mods that are in charge of different sections of the forum. Not saying they couldn't take action in different sections, but their focus could be keeping their section clean and useful.
