      Yep.

Guys, if a veteran gets hazed (any of us), that's how this board works. If we've been on here and have thousands of posts and we don't know how to open the hood, we deserve to get flamed. Half the fun is getting poked at or flamed. Dish it out AND take it.

What I have a problem with is new guys asking questions - even ones that could have been answered with a search - getting the full hazing and just getting destroyed on here. A lot of members take the knowledge they have for granted, forgetting that at some point, they didn't know a damn thing about E30's. Instead of sharing that knowledge, thus educating the noob and taking them that one step further to becoming a veteran, they belittle the noob for not knowing.

Like Stefan said, we aren't all born with the knowledge that a scewdriver through the grill will pop the hood. We need to help people BECOME members of the board before making them feel like they're part of the family we've all become ;)

I still think there needs to be work on the other end of the stick. Many newbies are stubborn and ignore advice from the vets, swear by their own hypothesis, etc. They need to at least be greatful and offer a thank you for the good advice they recieve.

THANK YOU. Now I know I'm not the only one who thinks this.

There have been multiple instances lately where someone asked a question, which was answered promptly, in detail, and verified by multiple people. Then the noob basically keeps asking the same question over and over, getting even better answers each time but still asking THE SAME DAMN QUESTION. It gets really aggravating when stupid people try to work on cars.

Or a noob will belligerently argue over a fact, get corrected or proved wrong three times in a row and come back and say "oops, I'm new give me a break I want to learn." If you want to learn, then don't argue with the people who are giving you the free advice you're asking for.

I really enjoy this forum. I really enjoy owning an e30, and this site only enhances the experience. This is a very good resource for information, as well as entertainment. Thanks to all who do the work to keep this site up.

I'll know that sometimes I post some sporradic, worthless comments, and I appologize for that.

The only thing bothers me sometimes is bad grammar in posts, but that is less of an issue here since most of us seem to be at or above college level education.

Also, people always asking question about M-Tech II kits...

Otherwise, I think this is a high quality site and I do enjoy my time here.

              Matt

Here's an example of everything that could possibly go wrong in a thread:

Misinformation, ignorance, unnecessary flaming, belligerence, off-topic discussion...

If I never saw a thread like this again I'd be happy.

Its funny how most people only talk shit on the fourms. I've just been trolling around, reading and learning what I can before I post, so I don't sound half stupid. Heh. Well anyways, again, people talk shit on forums alot, and are cool people in real life.

That aside, you guys are pretty cool. I like this place.

I thought it was pretty entertaining. I especially liked the guy that signed up just to back up his friend, called himself ethreats (ecock would have been better) and said he can elicit emotions from inanimate objects (embarass cars)

                      Personification!

In all seriousness, I agree that those types of threads should be taken care of.

It's entertaining when you're not one of the people trying to help, your advice goes nowhere and the whole thing turns to shit.

...but the "I'll embarass your car" comment was pretty classic. Even better that the douchebag was probably serious.

I love my car but I don't think it has the capacity to feel.
