the grills won't mount properly; it looks like the rad support might have been bent in the shop incident. they sit way too far back. valance comes too tight at the bumper too. none of the seams line up anymore.
also, they just painted over my old cracked grills and put them back on instead of replacing them like they said they would. same with the broken turn signal.
i know they're going to be unwilling to fix anything...i'll probably have to try and contact their insurance company and start over...Leave a comment:

Sorry to see this Mike. I guess the next step would be to have them replace the hood and reshoot it?, make sure the grills are aligned properly (show them exactly how its supposed to be). Tell them to remove the trim and do it right this time. No excuse for that front bumper being like that though. Looks like they took a paintbrush to it.Leave a comment:

I didn't pay anything obviously, but state farm has urged me to contact the other party's insurance or even the shop's insurance (since the hood damage was caused at the shop). At this point I don't really know what I'm going to do. Fuck court, been there, won that. Meant nothing, received almost nothing.Leave a comment:

tbh, the maaco near my house will do better work than that. i had my lebaron resprayed when i was 16. it wasnt great, but it was much better than that.
that is a vlad approved paint job.Leave a comment:

Might as well be a maaco job. What's your plan. They'd be fixing it or going to court to pay for it to get properly repaired or replaced.Leave a comment:

this is why there is only 1 body shop i take my rx8 to. after 15+ trips to the body shop, it is always flawless when it comes out. no paint drips, no scuffs, no flat spots. flawless. they are Mr. Spoiler in Manassas. i love them. great people too.
they are a top notch body shop and if i didnt have insurance, i could not afford them. (i asked how much to repaint an e30, $7-8k they said.)Leave a comment:

looks horrid... definitely cut corners. not sanding and polishing either? looks like single stage paint. how much did you end up paying??Leave a comment:

Damn that sucks. You were probably better off getting a new hood and fender. Or you should have taken it to where you were comfortable.Leave a comment:

looks like shit, tell them to fix it and show them this thread, especially other guy who showed that awesome metal work on his car.Leave a comment:

next to the recessed grills, this one probably bugs me the most....flat spot on the hood right at the bodyline.

i'll let the pictures speak for my disappointment. i refused to pick up the car, but lesson learned. you guys were right.
grills no longer fit properly either :/

i must say the paint itself looks GREAT. however, they taped off the driver side trim and the lines are very noticeable. tacky. also, there's a small flat spot on the nose of the hood where they fixed the damage occurred at the shop. the owner says it looks the same as the other side, but it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. i'm not picking the car up until the two blemishes are fixed....especially since one was caused while there.Leave a comment:
