You sir, have just made my day a little bit better hahaComment

My GFs mother bought a new Prius within the last year and does many trips from SoCal to NorCal and back. She recently took it to a dealer cause she was concerned about the poor fuel economy it was getting. They hooked up a diagnostic to scan the ECU.....then told her to stop driving 80+mph and her mileage would be more aligned to factory specs.
Gee....really? :loco:

is MD a "no fault state" or whatever that is? where both parties get half the blame no matter what?
that really sucks.Comment

"Maryland is a contributory negligence state, which is much, much different than no-fault. Most states have something called comparative negligence, which means you compare who is at fault, and apportion responsibility. With contributory negligence, if the plaintiff contributes to the accident, they are totally barred from any recovery at all. This is a very harsh doctrine, and there have been attempts to switch to the rule applied in other states." This is a quote from one of the MD attorney offices.Comment

thats what i initially thought. but apparently they dont do that anymore. the police simply list the facts. they dont blame anyone at the scene of the accident. thats what the officer told me. but i can also use him as a witness or something. im not totally sure. still trying to figure things out
when i got t-boned in my old slicktop in the city i had the police do a report, called the station the next day to get a copy of said report. the person on-call said in the file the other driver was indicated at fault.
maybe it was because in my sit. there was a clear definition of who had the right-of-way.
sucks when things suck.Comment
