Why the hell are we apologizing for people that don't listen and take action when we knew for days what would be coming... It was publicized all over, even exaggerated with names like super storm and frankenstorm. If you don't listen to any of that whose fault is it?Zinno '89 <24v swap in progress>

OK VINNI HEAR COMES SOME PAIN. You sound like the guy from FIMA that told me its a luxury to have a tv, direct tv, 2 cars, formal living room and family room, and a lot more. Man fuck that.. i worked hard for this and for you to even be judgmental to say i do not care about it is F'ed up.
1st my neighbors that have lived in this area for 17 years say that they have never seen a disaster like this. 2nd i live in a small sectioned community. if a car alarm, yelling, unusual noises, etc. happens we look outside our window. 3rd the water did not raise it came all at once then rouse then leveled out. Everyone was outside at once yelling. we still had electric. I took notice to how the direction of the water was, how fast it rouse, when it leveled out and started to decline. My 1st thought was a water main broke or levy broke. No way in hell my area got that much water in 20 minutes. I am no weather man but the only other reason i thought of was that Sandy picked up water from the river in between NJ and NY which is about 2 1/2 miles away and dumped it in a 2 block radius. Streets blocks out of the radius had no water. Jersey shore is 1 hour away. So that is out of the question. Talking to a few neighbors i found out something else but I rather not say anything now because i have to prove it.
everyone else that knows me knows no way in hell would i leave this car in any danger. i only had liability.
Here are some pics.
IX in pictures had water up to the front seat. it does not start. I was trying to get it ready for the winter so i can put the vert away to work on.

It all depends on your actual policy, but I do know home owners insurance can cover auto damage sustained on your property. Good luck man, and sorry to hear about this.

Maybe people should wait to pass judgment and criticize others until they have all the facts, or maybe they should just keep their opinions to themselves altogether, especially when someone is obviously going through a tough enough time already1987 325ic

OP, Sorry to hear about your misfortune, If the water was "fresh" I say strip it down, pressure wash everything, apply liberal amounts of Lysol or some other disinfectant to EVERYTHING and let the cleaned parts dry-out until bone dry.
I mean for the most part, everything *should*be ok... ECU may be shot, you can try to dry it too idk.
if the engine flooded out, drain all oil etc, pull plugs blow water out of cylinders with compressed air, squirt in a little WD40 or something and refill with fluids when done try starting it...
you have a lot of love and time in your e30, so invest a day of labor and see what happens.
