If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

I've spoken to Derek a few times at meets. He certainly seems capable of delivering since he's done work on his own car. Maybe he's gotten overwhelmed with projects? I don't know...just speculating since I also know someone impatiently waiting on his services.

moving a shop is no excuse to ignore and disappear for weeks while in possession of customers money

Unfortunately, I am having major issues getting my MS3X on my M3 turbo install & tune done, since June! I understand business (my B.S. is in Administration/QMS) but this is no way to treat customers. The blatant disregard makes it hard to promote for someone's business like this.

It seems new shops are getting into a bad practice, starting up on the backs of customers $$ then strings them out for products and services at their leisure. This is "unfair business practice." When you agree to something (specific performance), and acceptance and compensation is a contract... You must do what you say, in a timely manner... Not what accommodates your monthly bottom line.

It's not his workmanship in question, but rather his work ethic. He seems pretty cool as a person, but the sporadic updates doesn't inspire confidence or a good customer base... But I guess word-of-mouth is doing ok for him... For now.

I'm out $1800, beginning in April 2012 but it's the $20k in motor/custom turbo setup & $25k ///M car sitting for over two years, YES 2 YEARS between Castro's & Derek just trying to get an EMS tune to run it. If I had to do this over again, I wouldn't do this again, I'd go ViPEC V44 or V88 with someone like Neel Vasaveda @ Apex the extra $1-2k is worth the customer service & peace of mind.
