Yeap, I hauled a bunch of scrap lumber (and an old mailbox w/post) to the dump on my roof rack last weekend. Didn't even think to take a pic because, well, it wasn't the first time I've used it for such a purpose, and it won't be the last.

Get any good looks driving with that much wood showing?
Im my experience The more wood you have showing is directly related to the amount of looks youll get

It's sad more often than not. People are surprised I actually use mine for it's intended purpose.

A ticket for what, exactly? As far as I know, no law around here sets a weight limit on your roof rack loads. The front and rear didn't extend past the edges of the car, so I didn't even need a red flag/ribbon/tape.

For what it's worth, I drove carefully and I took the corners slowly. The 2X4s were tightly and securely fastened. Sure, this is the upper limit of how much I'd want to carry up there, but driving 2.5 miles with this cargo strapped down securely is hardly unsafe.

That's just one of the many reasons you're not a cop.

A couple really did load their small car down with hundreds of pounds of lumber and other building supplies.

                      bam.

if someone could find the blackholed lumber pshop thread that would be epic.

Roof Racks? We used to dream about having roof racks.
