Roof Racks Are So Freaking Trendy

They're just useless accessories that never get used.

I have used mine to transport a futon and to take my bike to school everyday so I can park off campus and not have to pay for a parking pass  I don't like mine though. I need to upgrade to a Thule/Yakima type.

You guessed it. Doing some basement renovation. I'll probably have to rent a truck when I take the drywall home.

Between the E30 and my 1600, I've hauled more crap on top of my cars than I care to remember. I just refused to buy, insure, maintain, and pay taxes on a truck that I'd use only occasionally.

For what it's worth, I stacked the lumber over the supports, so there was no bowing in the load bars. The 2.5 mile drive from Home Depot is relatively straight and I kept the speed down. I also took the corners pretty slowly. All's well that ends well, I guess.

I've been eyeing roof racks, I miss having a truck sometimes.

Get any good looks driving with that much wood showing?

I'd never put 300lbs on my roof.

if I want to transport stuff, I take the Subaru. Because it's a Subaru, and I don't really care about it at all. :p
