No problem. I'll run it on laguna Seca for lap times; a stock r35 gtr does about 1:50 with decent driver; so does a stock e36m.

I think of you as a swell fellow, but this is wrong^ The M30b35 does not stop pulling till it is bouncing the limiter. It will smoke the tires from first to 3rd with ease and I ran down an m52 swap like it was a joke. I know the s52 will pull away...but it is not as much fun. That grunt from the m30 is just bliss! You cannot beat the punch it gives.

Not to toes: Let's be serious, the m30 is not crazy heavy over a dressed m20. Remove PS, Ac and you're in the same ballpark with 100+hp and GOBS of downlow bruteforce.

I love the m30, I would rather it over an s52 anyday. IMO the only step up is the s54 for all around weight and power gain. I am sure many will disagree with me, but who cares? anything is better than an m42!

now you're talking nonsense. so an M30 makes 265bhp now? huh? or did you mean it makes ~50whp more? because that's the honest truth.

it's a cool engine, I get that. and it's cheap. but jeeze. it's not like you can't make ~200hp/200ft/lbs out of basically any BMW inline 6. I'm pretty sure a 3.5l 6 cylinder is not gods gift to low end torque..

also, the S54 is heavier than either the M30 or S52, so I'm not really sure where you're going with that comment. Also, S38 > any M30. :p

He just asked about the engine. 5sps are easy to come by, anything from ~1985+ that was M30 powered. I'd rather have an engine from an auto trans car though. Less likely to be beat on. Hence the 735, e32, option.
