lol at the steering wheel - typical HakkenTT. I also like the smashed strut tower, and god knows what else crap he did to make that all fit together.
His first introduction to hakkkkken swapping was:

      A:

Use angle grinder to trim hellical vanos gears on m54 intake camshaft to use as single vanos camshaft

      (I'm sure it stays balanced)

      B:
      re - using the rings from a m54b30 in a m50.

If that wasn't a clear indication of the r3vtalent to come........
      OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

Z4 non powered steering rack fits e30

im not familiar with his work but maybe this was just a preliminary setup? possible going to go back and make it right? I mean i might do something like that if i was experimenting with a new swap

Because doing it twice makes so much more sense?

Hak job or not, he got it done and I want to drive it. Stick and less hack would be nice, but it's cool that he got it to work.

I don't see why you'd go through that much effort and keep it auto, and yes, what the hell steering wheel?

And on N54 vs N55, everything I've read on the topic has put N54 ahead of N55 as far as available power add-ons, and I saw one dyno with intake, downpipe, water/meth, and JB4 tune that was almost 500whp.

N55 obviously better design/reliability wise, but without turbo replacement, I'm under the impression it isn't as easy to make the same power.

                  Forget all that noise.

I'd save a ton of money and get one of these bad boys

Super cheap, easy to run stand alone and makes decent power

I'll be ordering the ecoboost V6 for my OBS ford pickup this summer.

That ford motor is 1/2 of the power of a chipped N55..
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

Remember to also order a standalone lol

the ecoboost 4 cylinder full kit is $5850 and requires a standalone computer (not included). Buying the running complete car may be faster and only slightly more money
