AAA has gotten smart on trying to sign up and IMMEDIATELY use the membership for a tow of any distance. They now sign you up on the phone if you call and make you wait a minimum of 48 hours to use your new membership. They had lots of people trying to sign up for a tow when they were already stranded.

So keep that in mind. I just researched this about 4 months ago.

You are in a situation that is probably close to my worst nightmare. Looks like the community is stepping up to help a fellow e30 brother! Way to go guys!

Keep us updated. Its suppose to be real nice over the weekend and so if you want to pull your head off and fix the m20 it would be perfect.

I got about 4 hrs home. Once home, I'm gonna sit down, drink a beer, the start tearing her apart

damn sorry about your luck dude. If you're limited on tools I wouldn't go the 24v route. I would just find a cheap complete m20 and swap that in.

Good choice on the full trailer and not the 2 wheel dolly. Let me know if I can help keep your beers from getting warm.

Yea, very smart for a full trailer. I wish I could have gone that route but uhual wanted $500 for a trailer and $300 for a dolly...keep us updated with what you decide to do, but whatever you do make it a 5spd swap;)

Always a good idea to have AAA ready. Live & Learn. Hope the bottom end is fine. a 885 head swap, new belt and you could be rolling before the end of the weekend.
