I retired my E30 of DD duties last year or so, though I have no problem DDing it..
The only unreliable thing about it is the ride height haha.

I retired mine of DD duty 2 years ago when I was moved to central Mass for work. Later Cleveland, now back in PA, and I wouldn't want to DD it in snow/salt so I keep another car (treated myself to an F30).

I'd also feel bad putting more than 10k miles/year on the E30, plus I left A/C out of it and I went to coilovers - while the ride is good on GCs, it's not ideal for every single day. I will still drive it in the rain though, and up to 80-85ish degrees ambient. I like getting use out of it and it's a blast to drive.

Toy that I never get to play with because lazy and have other cars that double at toy/DD status....also it's in many pieces.

I've been DDing this E30 for close to 3 years now, my first one I probably only kept for 6 months but I did DD it.

I have an E90 now but my E30 was my only car for 12 years. I just got tired of it getting the shit beat out of it by morons in parking lots and all the crap they spray on the roads during the winter. Plus I've literally got hundreds of parts I never had time to install because I always needed it to get to work or wherever the next day. Now I can do whatever I want at my own leisure.

The E90 is nice in its own way but it's very watered down and it's definitely not an E30.

Both. I used my daily to get through HPDE, and will be finishing up my SE30 soon.

Also have a parts car, and a shell that is slowly getting modified with no real plans yet (just stripped it and shaved the bay so far). Then have 2 e36's, Camaro Firebird and an Excursion.

I have four E30s that I drive on rotation, sometimes one gets passed up if it's down for repairs or on loan.

                    E30 DD or Toy?

Depends on the season. Bought an e46 m3 to daily in the summer, but my ix owns the winter. Meanwhile I keep my 318i as a toy in a constant state of being dismantled

I voted weekend toy, but I could DD my car without issue. It's just nice being able to keep all the stupid errand and commuting miles off of the car and use my Focus for that. Not to mention now it feels a little more special whenever I drive it. And if I beat it up I don't have to worry about going to work the next day lol

Weekend errand duty, stored November to April. I wish my errand destinations were farther away.
Mostly, reminds me I was a wrench-bender for - a really long time - before becoming a bureaucrat. Fixed shifter last weekend, this coming long weekend either loping idle or front struts.

Daily drive it but am always thinking about getting door side hit. in those thin doors. I had a friend get side hit and broke his clavicle, that bone was sticking out his chest and the pain for months of recovery but the bone was left right there pushing skin out. looked it up and it seems it happens alot..

but I still cant say no to cruising in my e30 :)

Back at school now, so it's off DD status for a while, which is nice. Kind of sick of wintering it to be honest.
