How much should I expect to pay for this M3

Needs a lot of things. Can't really tell but the paint is shit everywhere, not just the hood. Low miles..Yes Joe I think I found your dads car. The guy calling me about a part for the vert and will discuss the price with him then. Obviously no interior. What would you pay for this car? I haven't heard it start so I don't know if it is capable of doing so. Also this guy is really nice and is great to work with so if anyone is in C'bus and needs some repair PM me and I will give you where is shop is. Would I pay more getting this up to track expectations than it would be to make my vert a track beast?

    thanks

        ~$6-7k depending on the engine.

With the front clip as rusty as it is (and a different color?), I'd trust it about as far as I could throw it.

Check the rest of the car VERY thoroughly for rust, and if there's no more than I see in that picture...I'd pay no more than $2-3k. I'd almost guarantee that the motor is shot, or will be shot soon. Maybe up to Ken's price of $6-7k if the motor ran like an S14 should. But I'll believe that when me shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet.

I agree with Bill. Your looking at a real slippery slope. Judging from the front sheet metal it was probably wrecked - could mean a salvage title - that cuts the price 50%. Someone else started to repair it - why did they walk away?
You are not looking at E30 prices for parts here ie. rebuild S14 engine $7000 to $12,000 & that's doing a lot of the grunt work yourself- E30M3 parts are a lot more expensive, used or new - the ONLY part that will interchange with the E30 is the hood!! Do a search for the "$15,000 rule" on S14.net for a real eye opener.

Not trying to rain on your parade, just being realistic - do your homework & become an educated buyer - it will put a permanent smile on you face, even with empty pockets!!

3-4k if there is no more rust because that is about what its worth in parts.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it. Definately applies to this car.

such a stupid saying. just cause you have money doesnt mean you enjoy getting ripped off.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

lowball him and see if he bites. At the end of the day, it's still an m3.

                          Charlie, buy my diff.

That car is a hunk of junk, don't touch it.

Is that hood honestly just rust?

The mechanic was starting to repair it and still plans on it. I just told him that I was interested. If it is Joe's (on R3V) dads car it was in a front accident. The motor has 55,000 miles on it but I have no clue if it actually runs because Joe said it has been sitting for something like 10yrs, I think. The prices did bother me alittle to repair it. I would save alittle moeny because i don't plan on restoring. I was going to fix the front end, put a cage, seats and everything else to get ready for the track. This will cost me a good amount but will save me a price of a couple things.

After looking at some of the numbers that you guys are giving me, I think that I will just stick to my vert and make it a track beast. Looks like what I am going to pay to fix it and make it fast I might be able to get a s50 in there. We'll see though because he might come back with a good number.
