This idealogy applies to anything in the e30 game.
I.e. Why do 370 mm mtech wheels go for $400 all day long while a comparable 15 mm more yields a 1/4 of that value..?
Why do euroweaves cost a grand when you can get identical wheels albeit an inch smaller for a fraction..?
The list goes on and on.
Purists/enthusiasts are the ones snatching these parts up and will ALWAYS care enough to pay top dollar at the end of the day.
After all, they ain't makin' no 'mo!

There was a set on CL Ca; Southbay for 700! Cracked and broken pieces but mint condition. Real price was 300 in my opinion. I would pay 600 tops for one, has to include box and everything

Startec's are phenomenal and have a much better look than altezza/ebay lights. They just look so good, even when not on the car.

Ive been considering wiring up the dead spot in the US tailights where the rear fog is as an additional brake light, so soccer Moms in their SUVs dont rear end me.

My euro-spec E30 has rear fogs, its a great feature!

As for the taillights, I agree that I only like them on M3's. However as mentioned everyone has different taste. I love MHW tail lights but also am not willing to spend $500+ on a set of used tail lights. Mine are just 3m tinted with the lightest shade and I love the way it looks. Others may hate it. It is what it is.

Startecs predate altezza's by like 20 years so I don't think you can really compare them. they're the OG of smoked lights.

spray painting your tail lights still looks just as ugly now as it did 10 years ago when people started doing that. no matter what people say you can tell as soon as you see them that they were spray painted.

I agree with the OP. They are UGLY as hell. You couldn't pay me to put a set on a e30.

I really like them, but I don't think they look good on all e30's. Also why make a thread to bitch about one thing. I hate 4 doors and never felt the need to start a whole thread dedicated to four door hate.

Those are mine which are also on eBay. If you see them, you wouldn't even notice they were cracked or missing any pieces as they are out of sight when on the car but I wanted to be as transparent as possible and disclose all of the blemishes otherwise they would truly be MINT. lol @ "real" price. We will see in a few hours if they are worth at least $500 in today's market.
