I always presume that anyone who drives an SRT4 or a Scion TC is a douche.
Car and Driver stereotypes?

I don't know what stereotype this is, but I've seen it several times.
My roommate's dad bought him a Mitsubishi Montero, paid for everything including insurance. It had a small oil leak, which eventually drained the oil enough to blow the motor. My roommate was then pissed at his dad for giving him a car that leaked oil and blamed the engine blowing up on him. His dad ended up having the motor replaced and now every time ANYTHING goes from with the car, he blames his dad for giving him a crappy car.
He's the kind of guy that literally NEVER washes the car, so there is moss growing everywhere it can. Inside is filthy to the point of me not wanting to even sit inside it.Comment

Thanks for moving the thread, mods!
I've noticed a trend of people out here that seem to think if you don't have a Jeep in Colorado you'll never survive the winters and they'll assume you're an idiot for driving anything else. The kind of people that throw all caution to the wind and will happily go 10 over the limit in blizzard conditions while I'm trying to travel safely at 10-15 under.
Every Jeep driver I've come across out here is a fucking tool. I guess "it's a Jeep thing.""Leafeon" '92 Lagunengrun 325i Vert (Daily Driver/Project)

when people treat new cars like beaters. Why does your 2010 ford fusion already have thinning roof paint and hazy headlights? Oh. I see, you haven't washed it and it hasn't seen wax since it was driven off the lot.
There's a neighbor of mine, drives a mid-00's mercedes wagon that she bought new. now idk if she attended or not, but she has a Yale window sticker. Every time I see the car, it looks worse and worse. more scratches and dings, and dirtiness. it won't be long until it's gone.
I know this is bad of me, because I know some people on here are in this situation/live in the city, but I consider anyone without a garage/ a garage so packed with shit that the car stays outside, to not give a damn about their car, and are slobs. I mean if you really have to go bare knuckles, get one of those tarpy car tents from HF to at least protect you car from the elements.

I'm pretty sure a 5 year old car should still have good paint regardless of whether you wash it or not. IMO that's just a poor quality product.Comment

And i guess most new car's paint is pretty cheap really, not to act like an old man

I started to notice a while ago how much fucking orange peel new cars have. It's like they're not even trying to do a good paint job. The paint on my E30 is smooth as a baby's butt where it's still original.Comment

I noticed that as well. I think at the rate they churn out cars these days, it's no wonder they are as bad as they are.Comment

That's BS. Lead paints and high VOCs were banned ages ago. The paint on my E90 is 10 years old and still looks new. People don't take care of their shit...Comment

Same goes for everyday stuff, like road grime, bird shit, etcComment
