guess that depends on if you think a sportscar = a sleek 2-seater, regardless of how good it is at actual motorsports (see: Fiero)

or whether a sportscar is a car that actually drives sporty and is extremely competitive in many motorsports (see: e30)

I lean toward the latter, personally. There are plenty of poser sportscars out there that actually suck to drive even if they look fast/cool (lol, DeLorean, anyone?)

uh, who do you think invented the concept of a sport sedan?

      I can't stand MR2s. I could think of 20 other cars from the 80's I'd rather drive.

Truth. MR2s from the 90s, however, are a different story.

I voted for the fiero... and also the corvette. But I did vote for the Shelby! But I guess that's only keeping it all-american. But why would they compare a bmw to a toyota? The whole RWD vs mid engine setup. The Fiero should be compared to an MR2 instead of a Ferrari.. because...affordable... or something

Second round has started (same link). E30 made it through and is now against the Corolla GT-S\AE86. So all the fanbois will vote for that, I'm sure.....

IMO the E30 is more favored by the GRM members.

I would be shocked if hachi-roku didn't cream the E30 once the initial D fanboys come in to vote. If the 911 doesn't win I will be even more shocked.

luckily, there aren't that many of those types on GRM. The AE86 is respected there, but I never see it getting any particular amount of love there, mostly because of the drift tax.
