I know im the 100th person to say it but my buddies old miata was an absolute blast and they can be found for dirt cheap. They are also fairly reliable, great on gas, and bitches can hop right in the passenger seat with the top down.
to anyone recommending fwd cars, really? Read the title.1991 318i Sedan

This dude at work is seriously considering paying 7 grand for my new e30.. I want to rebuild the m20b27 and head swap but have such limited space that I might take his offer and get a miata until I move out of the house. I'm trying to convince my friends to get them too because e30's are just a bit too $ for daily status for most of us in the BMW class. Would be epic to be 10 miatas deepBMW tech

I'll sell you mine for $1500. Needs rear brake hard line repaired, lots of fad words could be used to describe how it looks though.
Only downside is rust, but its cosmetic. The car has been very reliable up until the brake line failed. It would sit for months, and when I needed it she always fired right up.
Road trip, road trip, road trip. I'll even help you fix the brake line.... If I don't fix it myself in the next few weeks. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

There isn't a good replacement, that's why we all own E30's.
FT86/BRZ is the only real option. Otherwise you're just back in another 80's-90's older car, and at that point you might as well be driving an e30Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

I probably posted in this thread before, but since my E30 has been down the last 3 weeks for a nightmare suspension job I have put almost 2000 miles on an AP1 S2000 on KW V2s, including a 600 mile round trip to Havasu, and one of those is almost certainly going to be my next car. I actually find it incredibly more comfortable than my E30, loads more fun, more simple, and I have no use for a back seat. My boss and coworker have both owned several and say they can get me into one for under $10k, and they have lots of spares if I need them.
I should probably at least drive a Miata before making that jump, I've never had the opportunity, but in stock form I can't see it being anything but a disappointment compared to the S2k, and not needing a ton of mods is part of the S2k appeal for me.sigpic

Don't bother, I used to have a little annual event I would do. I would take my girlfriend (so the salesman couldn't ride), and take an S2000 out for a extended test drive. Did it 3 years in a row. I do prefer the 2.0 models though, a little more raw.
I own a beater Miata now, it doesn't compare. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.
