R3v can be like highschool gym class - if ya'all remember, everyone makes fun of the odd balls in a communal effort to help that one guy to stop being so socially awkward, raise him up(and eventually get laid). It's not just for the sake of being mean - guy that are mean just to be mean are just doing that to make them selves fell better (and if you think about it, you can spot those guys a mile away). What I think it is, is something programmed into us...built into our nature as a group dynamic - to help make the weak stronger. But don't listen to me - what do I know?
    Damn, perfect.

As for the "fall of R3V"

I have owned a lot of different motorized vehicles in my life, and I was always the kind to join a specific forum for said vehicle to help with repair and upkeep.

I have owned 2 E30's, back to back. I sold my second E30 with the v8 back in 2013 when I took my current job in Virginia. My post count has probably doubled since then.

R3V is the only forum that has kept me around long after I got out of the "scene" myself. Hell, I have a damn build thread on this very forum (which I'm taking a lunch break from), for a vehicle that has nothing to do with BMW's, and I haven't even bothered to copy the thread here over to the Audi forums where people would probably give at least 1 shit.

Run-on sentence, fuck it. I just love you guys.

Many new members will come. Some just won't have the personality type to make it in a place like this. I see it in my blue-collar work all the time, some people are just too thin in the skin to handle the kind of hazing that creates a brotherhood. Long live R3V!

So why don't all the old farts on here just start being douche bags again? I'm all for being roasted in the name of r3v from time to time. As for the age dilemma, I think it's just the fact that kids in my age bracket are getting lazy as fuck. It's not that hard to work for a summer and buy a nice car, it's what I did. I'm 18 and I bought my e34 when I was 17, sold it for a massive fucking profit, and bought my e30 this spring. So that's the problem. It's just that little punk kids want their mommies and daddies to buy em cars. So yeah, fuck those kids but we need them to ridicule.

For one, being a douche bag makes the site look like a shit hole. Shit holes attract judgmental people/trolls/punk ass kids as you put it/ and lazy people looking for quick entertainment. That is not what this forum needs. What it needs, is people willing to help/down to earth/looking out for your fellow car person. RSlut is a perfect example in this thread of helping others. And he's over in the UK! http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=281557

IMO ,, the whole internet is falling down if we mention .. CARTALK,,, all kinds of websites are almost silent because of facebook ,, .. at least this is what have happened here in Iceland,, because of someone got this great idea to open an account on fb ,, related to the page,,, and almost everybody here in the country is on facebook ,, and it have been like that ,, the oem cartalkwebsite dies slowly,, people change also,, we get OLDER,,

One of the car pages that is really strong still today IMO is bimmerforums

Get you a chickypoo, get married, raise rug rats, get a good job, get a hobby you enjoy, watch rug rats grow up and have more rug rats, you become a happy grandpa surrounded by more rug rats, retire, die happy with your dick in chickypoo's mouth.

I'm no OG, but I signed up for r3v to do some research when I first discovered the E30 back in 2009.

Finally picked one up for $500 early last year. I started by making a build thread on here to share my experience. I found out it was rusted through (Damn rust belt... grumble, grumble) and with r3v's help, decided to look for a new shell.

Then I found another one. Despite it not being exactly what I wanted, with r3v's help, I'm making it into the car I want to drive, and again sharing my journey in a build thread.

I would have never thought I could do a transmission swap basically by myself. Hell I've never even done a clutch job before. But over the past few months I succeeded in swapping a 5-speed into my car.
Would I have been able to do this without the help of you guys? Probably not.

On top of the wealth of knowledge already available, there are forum members with an immense amount of knowledge that are willing to help even n00bs like me.

As I become more experienced with the E30 platform, I hope I can give something back to the community. Even if it's just answering newbie questions. I always like to innovate and try new things, so maybe I'll even do something that hasn't been done before!

I am a member of the r3v FB page, and I've found it useful for questions which might be simple, or something where I need a quick response. There is a lot of BS on there though, so I don't regularly read posts.

tl;dr - I rep R3V proudly and am happy to have a community like this for a 30 year old car.
I've got a t-shirt and a hoodie which I wear all the time even if no one around here knows what an E30 is. And of course I rep a window decal on the car!

i think the age is a huge factor for the apparent downfall of r3v. i am 17 (birthday was a few days ago) and i got my first e30 about two months ago. it is my second BMW because i inherited my mother's old e39. but as i look around at the people at my school, my friends, the people i work with, theyre just not interested in cars. things like shoes, computers, phones, etc just take everyone's money and they dont even make an effort to learn about cars and actually form an interest of something they rely on every day. i work everyday at a garbage minimum wage job, come home tired and smelly, and as soon as i get my paycheck, it just goes straight to my car. people dont want to do that anymore... my generation is getting lazy..
since i got this car, ive done so much research its crazy. im a member of about 8 forums that have something to do with BMWs and this site stuck out from all of them... this community, the people invovlved, in less than 2 months, ive learned so much about these cars it makes my head spin and i owe it all to this community. i hope this website stays active for generations beyond me. i know that more e30s are in my future for sure so i foresee myself being on here for a few more years at the least... sorry for the rant.
