Opinion on best or coolest motor swap

For fun I want to see what people would like to see swapped into an e30. Say with a budget around $5-10K
It doesn't have to be a BMW engine either. I love I6's but I feel like a shorter motor with more displacement would suit it better. In my opinion I would love to have a VQ37vhr in an e30. Weight distribution would be better and 330-350hp at 7,000 rpms would drive similar to high(ish) revving of the b25. So the car would still maintain it's spirit if you will. I would also enjoy a custom 4 rotor motor in one as that would just be insane even in NA form. That last one would easily take 10K to get done if not more so unless you have DEEP pockets it just isn't going to happen. As far as just going bonkers and if there was no limit on what I could spend I would want to make the 1LR-GUE work.....if I could even get my hands on it. Lexus says it weighs around 350 lbs which is nuts for a v10 ANNDDD it would sound like an f1 car.

What are your guys thoughts about other engine swaps, and what would you do?

OMC/Evinrude 275/300 GT/XP. It's a V8 in either 3.6 or 4.0L sizes, it's normally carb'd, and isn't exactly a space hog if you put the expansion chambers somewhere that's not the engine bay.

That, and the banshee wail of a two-stroke E30 might be epic.

you can reverse osmosis-ize a keurig coffee maker by putting the coffee where the water goes and the water where the coffee goes(and reversing the polarity of the power input). This should net approximately 196.3171416 horsepower. After hours of taking measurements, it appears it will just barely fit under the hood if it is clocked at 245 degrees.

I vote to make this thread a "pole" we need to sticky.

I actually thought of the cummins motor because it's the most beastly straight 6 ever. I think it would be cool in and e34 Touring. Oh yeah

S42 and no "Rob" option means this is immediately a failure of a poll thread

edit: on second thought M12/13 in full qualifying mode. Then I would just tell people its a M10 motor

Lightly used Roush Yates 358 D3 NASCAR engine. I think that would be reallllll nice.

I have been contemplating a 1j/2j swap for a little while now.

As far as insane, I 2nd a Cummins swap. That would be incredible!

+11. Seriously under rated motor. 275-280 is fairly reasonable with a tune and headers. My 330i put down ~224whp stock..
