This has to be an outlier. There is NOTHING special about this car.

I couldn't believe the result of that auction. Makes me wonder what my 55,000 mile 325iX would be worth. ;D

Might be time to list something on BAT...your signature is running out of room!

I'm still amazed that vert went for 21.5k and completely agree with you here.

                  lol.

I know I'm going to paying closer attention to verts I see for sale around here, and not just as parts sources.

The German e30 guys have been gob smacked at the prices on 325i verts for years now. Classic Data has pre facelift condition 2 verts at 19k Euro. So that result shouldn't surprise. Its interesting that I see various US market models show up in Europe for sale just as the price starts moving here. Its almost like there is a correlation or something.

You cant be an official dealer until you put a 7 and an 8 in the showroom.

Definitely a correlation. People have been quietly shipping US cars out overseas for many years now. Even cars with diving boards are still sought after as long as the body is good. I've read somewhere that the convertible version of a classic car typically fetches the most money. From what I've seen with VW Bugs, Caddy's and such it's true.

Yeah they used to goto Africa and some central and south america places now they go back to where they were made. Porsche's have been heading back for years I think it's half the reason why they are so pricey now.

                                Keep in mind
Diving board verts are super easy to convert to euro spec or to plastic bumper. I personally love the euro setup much more.
