Form what I understand it's just a database error. I believe he just needs to run a utility on the server to clean the database for the forum. That's why everything works but the forum.

These massive forums (like r3v) are harder to run then you think they are. Lucky for use Criv is a pro at this stuff. (I mean literally, he does this kinda of stuff for a living) ;)

Usually the correct amount of $ should the start the conversation. What kind of money has been offered? (PM me if you want to discuss).

Doing a fundraiser and get the ball rolling shouldn't be impossible with the kind of interest.

The site is very monetizeable with that kind of traffic. Very strange he just shut it down.

the traffic was bots.. when you looked at all the logged in users only one or two were actually members.

I've reached out in the past with not even a response, its certainly sad to see years of quality information go down the drain.

Its reasons like this I keep multiple database copies at multiple locations..rebuilding this would be impossible

Need a copy of the database, that is pretty much it, SSH/SFTP into whatever server, grab it, move over, setup forum and get it back up and running.

Unfortunately I doubt you will get anywhere. I mean, for years he neglected the site and wouldn't give the (willing) moderators the abilities to do basic maintenance (such as registering new users).

It's like when you see an old car rotting under a tree. It's never going to move again, but the guy isn't going to sell it.. He'll fix it someday.
