Please help me decide e30 touring or e34 540i

I currently have a 1995 e34 540i witha swapped 6 speed. The car needs paint and a reapholstered drivers seat.

I am looking at a 90 318 touring with a 5spd m40, if i buy this car i will sell the e34 and swap tbe engine for an m42 and an 4.10 lsd

Please help me decide, should i buy the e 30 wagon and sell the e34?

Ok, you are new, but you have basically posted no information. Since this is a BMW e30 forum, we are going to say buy the touring, swap the engine and make a build thread.

The question is what is your budget? Do you have about 5k to do the swap after you buy the car? Buy frank macaluso's swap guide for the 40 bucks or so that it costs. It's worth it's weight in gold. Read through it and see if this is something you are willing/able to tackle.

Put a new seat in the e34 and get it painted. Easier. Comfier. Faster. More trunk space by far. No weird tailgate.

I'd rather have a well-sorted e34 than a little touring. In fact my ideal touring is a S50 swapped e34.

He's not talking about swapping the engine into an e30 touring tho. He said he'd swap the m40 in the e30 for an m42.
