Alonso did it all. And Ron Dennis brought the emails to Max Mosleys attention the morning of the hungarian gp. So after the issue with alonso blocking in the pits.

Its safe to say alonso is going to have an uphill battle next year, that is if anyone picks him up.

Well that will depend on a myriad of things. First of all, if 'Fred' takes the WDC title this year (and I think he will despite being 3 points behind Lewis at the moment), that will make a 3-peat for him and very few drivers in F1 have achieved such success. With that feather in his cap, a number of teams looking for promising talent would gladly roll out the welcome mat regardless if he's part of a conspiracy. In recent weeks Alonso has made no effort to hide the fact that he's not entirely happy being with the McLaren squad - and I think he's hoping to get released from his contract early. However, Ron & Co. have stated both drivers are in multi-year contracts and no one is leaving soon.....although no F1 contract is set in stone.....probably just more Ronspeak for all I know.

With Alonso being verbal about seeking a different team, a few have chimed in with interest. There's the "yes we're interested/no we don't want you" chant from Renault. Old Flavio has some weight he can throw around to get what he wants...I wouldn't count this option out yet. It was speculated that Toyota was also another option - Ralf Schumy is just about to be shown the door since he stinks. Toyota may not be the powerhouse front running team, but with one of the phatest budgets in F1, their driver's get paid well and that may be Alonso's only concern. These guys are usually hanging up their nomex undies by their mid-30s so they have to stock the bank account well during their prime F1 years.

Alonso has already made a name for himself in this sport. One more driver's title and some nice endorsements will have him sitting fat happy by the time he's 40 (like he's not already)

Ron Dennis said that Alonso could break is contract at the end of this year and face no penalties. I was being facetious, i know someone will pick him up, altho im sure he has burned all bridges with McLaren, and Jean Todt said that he would never race with Ferrari as long as hes around. Flavio is an ass, he an Alonso would love to get back together again.

I was speaking in terms of getting a name for himself that was free of guilt and/or blame for letting all this come to the public eye. I feel that Alonso was using this information to coerce Dennis into playing favorites to him over Hamilton.

However, i hope the same asterisks is next to Alonsos third title as there is next to Barry Bonds home run record.

And Schumacher leaves just in time, with his legendary status still in place.

And thus i am backed. Alonso may not even have a future in F1 if he keeps this kinda of attitude.

Mind you, Schumachers points were thrown out in 1997 by an alleged attempt to run Villeneuve off the road at the final race in Jerez. This i far far worse IMO.

"At the start of the race, Schumacher had a good start, overtaking Villeneuve to take the lead. By lap 48 Villeneuve was catching up to Schumacher and attempted to overtake. Braking later than the German at the Dry Sac corner, Villeneuve had the inside line and was slightly ahead when Schumacher turned into him, his front right wheel connecting with the sidepod of the Williams car. Schumacher retired on the spot and Villeneuve went to take third place and earn four points, enough to take the 1997 title. Schumacher was later punished by the FIA for causing an avoidable accident and was disqualified from the Championship, although his race results (grid position, finishing position, points) still counted towards his official statistics."

id be pissed off too if some rookie bitch was looking at my car set-up. copying it. then beating me with it.

i love how when alonso was aloud to keep his setup secret from lewis hamiltion, hamiltion dropped off pace with him quickly and for the last 3 or 4 races

The more I keep reading into this drama, the more I believe Alonso has dug himself one helluva deep hole which he probably won't be able to hoist himself out of. At this point, and for the remainder for the season, he needs to do all he can to try and win the WDC title and then move on because I have a feeling he's not going to be driving for McLaren in 2008. It wouldn't surprise at all if McLaren's lawyers were already sifting through the myriad of details to end Alonso's contract early and send him packing. Should this happen, who knows where he may wind up for next year. From what I've gathered in recent F1 news, Renault looks like his best hope. Toyota might but it would be for the money, not getting another WDC title.

Ferrari is in 1st, BMW is in 2nd. McLaren is tied with everyone that has 0.

Hamilton is in 1st, Alonso is in 2nd, followed by the Ferrari drivers.

Alonso is such a tool... I doubt he'll race for McLaren next year, and would Flav really consider taking Alonso back after all of this ?

BMW is 2nd because Mclaren was removed from the standings... so they are really 3rd, with ferrari 2nd. BMW has said that they do not like being 2nd by default.

                                hamilton - 97
                                alonso - 95 [+2]
                                kimi - 84 [+13]
                                massa - 77 [+20]

                                30 points up for grabs

Massas out of it, but if it finishes kimi, massa, alonso, hamilton - then kimi will win the WDC by one point over alonso
