Hamilton isnt a bad driver but i will point out that when last years Mclaren [aka Ferrari] was showing speed, it was more the car than the drivers. Hamilton does have the ability to do well, but he HAS to have the right eqipment behind him.

I agree and this can be said for a number of F1 drivers. I look at someone like Mark Webber who more often than not qualifies pretty well and is usually a mid-field car most races....but that's because he is saddled with a less-than-ideal racecar. Put him in a better machine and you're likely to see better results. I think the same can be said for the likes of Trulli, Rosberg and Vettel.

I agree, the Red Bull car is coming in leaps and bounds, not to mention Webber is a very good driver and Vettel has been developing very well from his premier race in the BMW at Indianapolis. He has come very close to a podium finish several times in what is basically an older version of the RB4. But I think Red Bull will become what BMW used to be, the "Best of the Rest" unless Renault does something drastic. Toyota is right behind them as well.

Also, Adrian Newey has obviously designed an amazing car when you consider Red Bull has twice the amount of points compared to their engine provider Renault. I think that will only get better with the coming years. My only question that remains is where will Coulthard go? I think what would be funny is if Toro Rosso reverts back to Minardi in 2009 or 2010 whenever the FIA rule comes into effect and Coulthard goes there.

Well, you saw McLaren was capable of with (then ex-Williams designer) Newey back in the mid-90's. They were a very strong force that certainly caught Ferrari off guard multiple years. Newey is an excellent designer and has produced major results everywhere he has been. I doubt Coulthard will be in F1 in 2009, it's just my opinion, but the guy has to be getting the feeling that he's been in the game for much too long.

Good grief, when it comes to Hamilton fanboys, you certainly top the cake. He is a decent driver, no better then Heikki or Rosberg in my opinion, but his relationship with Ron Dennis has made him a headline maker in the UK ever since he began winning karting races. Everyone saw him as the next big thing, a rising star, even the next Schumacher. So, it's 2007, he arrives on the scene, the first part of the season goes very well for him. The second part has a few hiccups here and there, particularly his unusual performance in China, but the general public writes it off as first-year jitters. It's 2008, he has dismal performance after dismal performance. Two races out of eight have been won by him, but the season as a whole hasn't gone well.

When I pass judgement on him, I am looking at the facts. Say what you want, but I guess I'm Mister Hater if I am not with the country of UK and millions of other people in being a huge fan of him.

Every interview I have read from Coulthard make it seem like he want to stay in for whatever reason, and I am sure a podium finish in Canada didn't help him getting the clue. It is basically confirmed that Vettel is going to Red Bull though, so who knows where Coulthard will end up if he does indeed stay. I know Barrichello is out though, he really doesn't have anything left to prove, and to me either does Coulthard. Unless he's trying to prove he can win a world championship which isn't going to happen, his chance at doing that was over 10 years ago.

Dude, youre the number 1 BMW fanboy. Yes, we root for them but most of us are realistic. Theyve been fortunate so far. The only reason they get anywhere within the top four is because of mistakes/failures of the top two teams. They are nowhere near them in terms of race pace.

Esh, I wouldn't say that's always the case. They're making huge improvements and Ferrari and McMerc don't seem to be improving at the same rate. Teams like Toyota or Renault are "fortunate" with their results, BMW-Sauber is just consistent, I can't think of any other way to put it. Fanboy or not, it's hard to ignore over two years of solid results.

What do you guys think about Piquet being told to bag groceries unless he gets his head out of his butt? It seemed like he tried harder in France since his job is on the line. 7th ain't too shabby.

I think hes doing as best he can. The renault is crap and Alonso is a much better driver, so Alonso's results are because of his abilities.

Piquet will be out of a job next year, or in a lesser team.
