Why are you going to go with an engine that you know nothing about? What are you going to do for the transmission? driveshaft? shift linkage? mounts?

If you think that the Chevy V8 is the simpler route, you are delusional. If you think that it is a better route because you can get free stuff, I presume you are also going to have your dad do all of the labor for free too, right? I mean, he IS your dad, he owes you at least that.

everyone talks **** on m50's. so im throwing a chevy 400 small block v8 into my e30 and im gonna twin turbo it. it has the ultimate "OH ****" factor. cuz nobody expects a kid in a little e30 to have a v8. im getting a running motor thats still in a truck, im buying te entire truck for 500 tomorrow, if it actually runs like the guy says. the v8 swap will save me thousands of dollars plus the v8 starts off with 240 hp without any mods. the v8 can also be modded to over 1000 hp where as the fastest m50 ive ever heard of was only 750 hp and it had extreme amounts of man hours, parts and money into it.

lol yeah he does. it is not easy putting a domestic motor in a foren car. they dont like each other lol and if you say a bmw V8 is too much work i have to ask this. Where is your passion?

i think im sidding with funk master on this. you just cant beat the sound of a turbocharged m5X or S5X. they sound amazing! im only in high school and have already done about 4 motor swaps. myself and a friend most of the time. not some shop i hired. do the swap your self and will have more respect. just my

Where's the OP getting that the 400 has 240hp stock? It's only a 185hp engine. They can be made to run like hell. But it takes money.
