No go on the drive today, my seals for the brake master cylinder were leaking too bad. I did get the exhaust on, after starting the car up open-header to test things out. Everything is running well, minus the ECU needing to readjust after being unplugged for a week (battery was disconnected).

So today I rebuilt and reinstalled the rear calipers. Bled the brakes. Bled the clutch (was a bitch and took forever). Installed the heatshielding, cat section, and muffler. Finished installing the pedals and put the gauge cluster back in. Of course I have to rebleed the brakes and clutch because I have to remove the resevoir again. But oh well... at least there is fluid in the lines now.

I have been driving the car all afternoon 8) It feels great. I have some minor issues to work out, but all in all the project has been a success!

This is a great write up - well done mate:)

I spent 3 days last week replacing the rear subframe bushes, clutch, control arms and bushes, left front strut (mine was bent)

Of all the things I did, the rear subframe bushes have dramatically changed my car. It used to 'crash' over bumps and you could feel everything. Now, the car is ALOT smoother and feel rock solid. no more wayward characteristcs. I was finding it hard to maintain a line going around a corner!

I had access to a hoist and proper workshop tools, airlines ect.

I replaced the SFB by using an air hacksaw and cutting out the inside of the subframe bush. Once that was done, I levered out the rest of it and it just came out pretty easily. To install the new bush, get a big set of multigrips, spray silicone spray on the new bush and subframe and sqeeze the bush in by hand - too easy!
I liked doing it this way as I didnt have to remove the subframe or anything, not even the bolts under the back seat

Oh yeah, new control arms with new ball joints of course also make the steering nice too.

Make sure you take all the bolts off the auto before you pull it off. Makes life a lot easier.
Oh, and keep your tools organized.

BS87, what parts are you interested in? I could do some write ups.

James, you won't run into the pedal trouble I have... and just make sure to bleed your brakes like 5 times, thats what I had to do. And if you are seperating your drive shaft to change the CSB, bolt it to a tranny, it makes it a lot easier to loosen that big nut. And put a lot of grease on the threads when you put it back on.

Mark the driveshaft before you split it... Otherwise you'll have some nice bitchin vibrations when you put it back together.

The best part is, when the driveshaft was removed from the parts car it was taken apart without me knowing.

so its going to be a nice PITA doing that, hopefully I get lucky =)

Sounds good, I figured it would take awhile to do a correct brake bleed.

I will be posting my daily updates similar to you as well, as that was a very good idea
