Mainly the Auto--> Manual, but not the basic stuff like "Remove auto tranny +DS, add clutch+manual tranny & DS". The other little things, such as pedals, hydraulics, etc. Would be greatly appreciated.Originally posted by Digitalwave
BS87, what parts are you interested in? I could do some write ups.
(BTW, can't wait to see the interior without the hockey stick lever :D)

I am interested in knowing if the pedal swap from auto to manual is fairly straight forward ie: unbolt amd bolt in, or more complex? Also was it hard to remove the blank plug behind the pedal assembly to mount the clutch master cyl? Did you bolt the master cyl from underneath the car since it's mounted so low on the firewall? Thanks in advance for yolur reply. BTW, good job on your car!Comment

Well, my suggestion is that if your car came with an airbag, get the pedals from a car with an airbag as well. If you have a non airbag car, use non airbag pedals. The steering columns are different and it has been a hassle for mine. Take your seat out and changing the pedals isn't bad though. The plugs literally fall out if you even tap it with your finger, that part is easy.Originally posted by 5150ctI am interested in knowing if the pedal swap from auto to manual is fairly straight forward ie: unbolt amd bolt in, or more complex? The master cylinder attaches inside the car to the pedal box, not on the firewall.Comment

Are your new bushings giving you alot of noise? And it seems that urethane CAB's don't flex as easy. Can you comment on your new bushings, now that you got the car running? Is there any significant difference?
Seems if you just keep them lubricated you won't hear them that much, just wanted to know if your having that problem, seeing as I'm doing this later next month too. (RSM's, CAB's, Subframe bushings...).Reminiscing...Comment

You aren't supposed to lubricate them as far as I know. I didn't put anything on them and they don't squeek. The subframe and CAB's made a huge difference in the stiffness and feel of my car.Comment

Interesting. Thanks for the info, and lets see a new photoshoot soon!Originally posted by DigitalwaveYou aren't supposed to lubricate them as far as I know. Thanks for the info on the master cyl. So it attaches inside the car, and how does it route to the reservoir? Does it have i nipple that protrudes into the engine compartment? If you have any pics i'd appreciate it if you could post some. Nobody in my area has an e30 with a 5 speed that i can look at for reference. By the way i have the same year and model as yours. Thanks again.Comment

There are 2 holes in the firewall for it. The top one is for a soft line that comes off the side of the MC and attaches to the resevoir, the resevoir has a nipple on the side that you cut the tip of and attach it to. Then the bottom part of the MC protrudes through the firewall, sticking out a little bit, and attaching to a hard line that run to the slave cylinder. It's very easy to figure out, I didn't have a car to look at either but its self explanitory.Originally posted by 5150ctThanks for the info on the master cyl. So the reservoir mounts inside the engine compartment, and has a hole in the firewall where the soft line off the reservoir comes into the car and attaches to the master cylinder that is mounted in the car behind the pedal assembly. Then the end of the master cylinder that sticks out in the engine compartment by the bottom of the firewall has a hard line that routs to the slave cylinder? Does that sound about right? Trying to visualize your explanation. Thanks for the help.Comment

Yes, that is all correct. But if you didn't already know that the resevoir is attached to the brake MC and vacuum booster in the engine bay then this might be quite a difficult undertaking for you.Originally posted by 5150ctSo the reservoir mounts inside the engine compartment, and has a hole in the firewall where the soft line off the reservoir comes into the car and attaches to the master cylinder that is mounted in the car behind the pedal assembly.
