Just saw this earlier today, Foose has always been a fave of mine. I'm not always about his style on cars, but I respect his body of work and his skills.

The real M3 seems much more square while the sketch is morphing toward 240SX or SC300 lines. It's something about the way Foose drew his roofline lower and emphasized the curves of the fender and quarter panel.

Regardless, fun to watch and I like the stylized look of it.

When your only tool is Chip Foose everything looks like a giant chrome wheel. That's how that quote goes right?

Yeah - those wheels he drew are enormous.

He drew a product from Mercedes.

Here is a real spiritual successor with its mesmerizing horizontal line and a long trunk. And the things under the hood don't disappoint either.

Not a fan of the overbite bumpers, but much more pleased overall than I thought I'd be.

No, I think it goes something more like "When you see a giant chrome wheel you remember that Chip Foose is a tool."

Did he combine the E30 head lights and the E46 body?
